Finding Success in Fundraising

March 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Fostering a vibrant and active community can be expensive! Rural communities across Saskatchewan rely on fundraising to cover these costs, but what does successful fundraising look like?

Join Ivy + Dean Consulting to explore the basics of fundraising in a two-hour virtual session on March 18, 2026! Participants will learn the basics of fundraising, from campaign ideas and the use of online fundraising platforms to leveraging local partnerships to increase impact. We’ll also dig into wise practices for seeking grant and foundation funding, and how to ensure that your fund development plans align with your organization’s values and mission.

About the facilitator: Born and raised in rural Saskatchewan, Risa is passionate about increasing capacity for oft-overlooked and misunderstood communities across Canada. Risa came to Ivy + Dean Consulting in 2023 with nearly three decades’ experience in the non-profit sector, 15 years of which saw her in senior leadership roles. Risa is an active volunteer and sought-after board member who has served in executive roles on the Board of Directors of the Regina Folk Festival, Briarpatch Magazine, Saskatchewan Arts Alliance, Lumsden Beach Camp, and Queen City Hub. In her paid and volunteer roles, Risa has raised thousands of dollars for community-based initiatives as an unflappable fundraiser and grant-writing phenom, and she’s excited to get nerdy about fundraising with Parkland Valley District!
