Parkland Valley District staff are available to meet with community leaders, volunteers, and organizations. We will share valuable resources, grants and best practices in sport, culture and recreation that are available to your organization.
Through discussion, Parkland Valley District will gain valuable insight into the needs of your community or organization, which allows us to better support you and improve our services.
What Will Happen in a Community Visit
A Community Visit is a chance for your community or organization to gather key people together and meet with a Parkland Valley staff member. These key people can be either paid staff or volunteers who are looking to enhance their community or group.
During a community visit, we will:
Help communities/organizations navigate the world of community culture, recreation, and sport.
Suggest funding sources.
Assist you with the Saskatchewan Lotteries Grant Program application or follow-up report.
Offer any training we think you need including board development education.
And more!
Whether you’re looking to start or rebuild a recreation board, looking for training, are searching for funding for a project, we can help assist you! While we have lots of great ideas, we also want to learn what you need from us!
Community Visits can be one-to-one, with your group or several groups in your community. They can be virtually or in-person.
Who Can Access a Community Visit
Community Visits are available to community groups, organizations, and municipalities who are working to provide sport, culture, arts, recreation, and physical activity opportunities in their communities. We work with museums, recreation boards, rink boards, sport clubs, seniors’ groups, libraries, and more!
