Every non-profit board has a duty to protect the organization, its people, and its mission. This 90-minute workshop introduces board members and senior leaders to the essentials of risk management and insurance at the governance level.
Participants will gain an understanding of the board’s role in overseeing organizational risks, explore the main categories of risk (financial, operational, reputational, legal, and strategic), and review the types of insurance coverage most relevant to non-profits, such as Directors’ and Officers’ Liability (D&O) and general liability.
This session will provide practical guidance and key questions boards should be asking to ensure their organization is adequately protected.
Facilitated by Carissa Caruk-Ganczar, a Certified Leadership Coach who brings over 20 years of experience in community economic development, entrepreneurship support and leadership development to the work that she does with non-profit organizations.
