DESCRIPTION:A unique cultural learning experience. \nJoin us for Piñata-Making where participants will learn the Mexican tradition while creating their own piñata to take home. \nFacilitated by Alejandra Coronel who has led piñata workshops for schools and cultural events across Saskatchewan. \nCost to attend this Culture Days activity is FREE. SUMMARY:Board Level Risk Management & Insurance
DESCRIPTION:Every non-profit board has a duty to protect the organization\, its people\, and its mission. This 90-minute workshop introduces board members and senior leaders to the essentials of risk management and insurance at the governance level. \nParticipants will gain an understanding of the board’s role in overseeing organizational risks\, explore the main categories of risk (financial\, operational\, reputational\, legal\, and strategic)\, and review the types of insurance coverage most relevant to non-profits\, such as Directors’ and Officers’ Liability (D&O) and general liability. \nThis session will provide practical guidance and key questions boards should be asking to ensure their organization is adequately protected. \nFacilitated by Carissa Caruk-Ganczar\, a Certified Leadership Coach who brings over 20 years of experience in community economic development\, entrepreneurship support and leadership development to the work that she does with non-profit organizations. \nBoard Level Risk Management & Insurance takes place October 15 from 12:00pm – 1:30pm over Zoom. DESCRIPTION:Be sure to get your applications in for the Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant Program! \nThis funding stream helps to provide greater sport participation and development opportunities for Indigenous youth in Saskatchewan\, especially youth living in urban\, rural\, on-reserve\, isolated and northern communities. \nThose eligible to apply include organizations that provide services with First Nations and Metis people and are registered under the Saskatchewan Non-Profit Corporations Act. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an in-person learning session about artificial intelligence! \nAI Basics is a beginner friendly workshop where you’ll gain valuable skills to thrive in the digital age. Participants will learn a brief history of AI\, promoting basics with hands-on exercises\, how AI can assist you in sport\, culture and recreation\, and more! \nAttendees are asked to bring a laptop\, smartphone or table to be able to participate in the hands-on exercise.
