DESCRIPTION:Cultural Open House! Come and see what’s “On” in your community!\n\n\n\n\n\nLocal partners\, along with the Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils (OSAC)\, Museums Association of Saskatchewan (MAS)\, East Central Newcomer Welcome Centre (ECNWC)\, and Parkland Valley Sport\, Culture and Recreation District (PVSCRD) have partnered together to pilot a Cultural Open House in our community. \nThe Cultural Open House is an opportunity for non-profit\, cultural organizations in our community to promote programs\, events\, and engage new volunteers. It is the partnership’s hope that\, through your organization’s participation in this event\, it will create awareness of your organization and also help you to engage possible volunteers! \nOur ask to local organizations is to join us to create awareness and share opportunities that exist within your organization. With access to your own table\, you will be able to engage in conversation with people who attend this come and go event. We are inviting community members\, newcomers to the area\, and people in the surrounding area to see what is going “on” in their own community. \nThe partnership has created a Call for Volunteers Template for participating organizations to complete and have available to hand out to interested individuals. Please see attached. We ask that you complete this template with your relevant information and bring copies with you. \nThe partnership wants to make this as barrier free as possible for organizations. DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Lori Gotlieb – Volunteer Management Expert \n\n\nCommunications is an area that is often misunderstood by many. We communicate in many different ways to different audiences\, but do we necessarily focus on what we are communicating\, how we are communicating it\, what our message is and who our audience is? \n\n\nThis workshop will focus on the different styles of communication and how to best communicate for success. \n\n\nWe will look at communication styles\, how others interpret information including those from different generations and best practices to be understood clearly. \n\n\nWe will discuss the pitfalls of communication and when and what form works best for your situation to avoid conflict. \n\n\nWe will also look at how to deal with difficult situations and how to minimize those scenarios.

DESCRIPTION:The Sport Wrapping and Taping Workshop is a 7-hour practical workshop with content that deals with types of soft tissue injuries\, cycle and mechanism of injuries\, states of healing\, assessing and return to sport guidelines\, knowing when to tape vs not to tape\, ankle wrapping\, ankle taping\, wrist taping\, thumb & finger taping\, hip wrap\, and tensor bandaging. \nIt should be noted this workshop is NOT a certified workshop. It does not give anyone any type of official certification or designation. It is an educational workshop only and is not officially recognized by an professional body. \nFacilitated by Brittany Grose – Sport Medicine & Science Council of Saskatchewan \n\n\n\nCost to attend: $30 per person\nDate: April 29\, 2023\nTime: 8:30 am (Registration). Course runs 9:00am – 4:30pm.
