SUMMARY:Deadline: Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant
DESCRIPTION:The next deadline for the Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant Program is May 31\, 2026. \nThis funding stream helps to provide greater sport participation and development for Indigenous youth in Saskatchewan\, especially youth living in urban\, rural\, on-reserve\, isolated and northern communities. \nSchools are able to tap into this funding stream. Eligible items include: direct program related costs such as equipment\, insurance\, league fees\, transportation\, etc. Also eligible: food purchases that related directly to a sport program\, personal items such as footwear and uniforms plus honorariums. \nGrant guidelines and the application can be found online here. \nQuestions: contact Community Consultant Darla Batke.

DESCRIPTION:This important event brings together sport\, culture and recreation volunteers and professionals. \nTaking place June 17 beginning at 6:00pm\, our Annual General Meeting will be virtual this year over Zoom. \nThis is also a chance for those in attendance to learn more about what we offer and what we do. \nAttendee Registration and Voting delegate forms have already been emailed to eligible organizations and municipalities. SUMMARY:Community Asset Mapping
DESCRIPTION:What if your community has more than you think? \n\nEvery community has more potential than we often realize. It’s in the places and spaces we already have\, the local businesses and organizations that contribute to community life\, and the parks\, facilities and gathering places that bring people together. But it’s also in the less visible assets: the skills\, knowledge\, creativity\, relationships\, culture\, leadership and lived experience of the people who call the community home. Community Asset Mapping helps us see both: the tangible assets we can touch and use\, and the intangible assets that connect\, inspire and strengthen a community. \n\nIn this engaging workshop\, you’ll learn how to identify and map these assets\, uncover opportunities that may be hiding in plain sight and connect existing resources in ways that can spark new ideas and action. You’ll stop focusing on the question\, “What are we missing?” and start considering\, “What do we already have\, and what could we create with it?” Participants will leave with a new lens for seeing their community and practical tools to help turn existing strengths into new possibilities. \n\nFacilitated by Christina Birch\, Founder of Community Cafe. Christina is a rural enthusiast and community builder at heart\, her passion for support communities has been evident throughout her more than 15 years experience in community and economic development.
