SUMMARY:Community Asset Mapping
DESCRIPTION:What if your community has more than you think? \n\nEvery community has more potential than we often realize. It’s in the places and spaces we already have\, the local businesses and organizations that contribute to community life\, and the parks\, facilities and gathering places that bring people together. But it’s also in the less visible assets: the skills\, knowledge\, creativity\, relationships\, culture\, leadership and lived experience of the people who call the community home. Community Asset Mapping helps us see both: the tangible assets we can touch and use\, and the intangible assets that connect\, inspire and strengthen a community. \n\nIn this engaging workshop\, you’ll learn how to identify and map these assets\, uncover opportunities that may be hiding in plain sight and connect existing resources in ways that can spark new ideas and action. You’ll stop focusing on the question\, “What are we missing?” and start considering\, “What do we already have\, and what could we create with it?” Participants will leave with a new lens for seeing their community and practical tools to help turn existing strengths into new possibilities. \n\nFacilitated by Christina Birch\, Founder of Community Cafe. Christina is a rural enthusiast and community builder at heart\, her passion for support communities has been evident throughout her more than 15 years experience in community and economic development. She holds a Masters degree with additional certifications in Business Retention & Expansion\, Strategic Doing\, and Destination Creation. \n\nThis event takes place October 6\, 2026 at 12:00pm and is free. SUMMARY:Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant Program Deadline
DESCRIPTION:The next deadline for the Indigenous Community Sport Development Grant Program will be October 31\, 2026. \nThe purpose of this funding stream is to provide financial assistance to support new or the expansion (enhancement) of existing organized community sport programs for Indigenous children and youth in Saskatchewan. \nEligible organizations that can apply for this grant include Provincial Sport Organizations (PSO’s)\, Tribal Councils\, First Nations communities and municipalities\, non-profit organizations that provide services with First Nations and Metis people\, and schools. \nPlease note: the grant guidelines have changed for this funding stream. Please ensure you review changes made to the guidelines.
